James Beard Dinner at Ojai Valley Inn & Spa

Jamie West, the chef at the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa has been invited to cook at the James Beard House in New York. To celebrate this honor, he’s re-creating the meal for local residents on Saturday night. He’ll be serving a duck salad with a blackberry vinaigrette, smoked lamb loin with with a blue-cheese gratin, and a chocolate-walnut sable cake with Grand Marnier gelee and chocolate mousse. The reception begins in the Maravilla Lounge at 6:15 p.m. Dinner takes place in the Maravilla dining room at 7 p.m. The Craig Thomas Band will begin playing music for dancing at 8:30 p.m. The five-course dinner with wine pairing, tax and tip costs $125. Or stay overnight at the hotel and receive dinner for two at no extra charge.
