Free Lunch in Westwood

Thursday, May 20th, beginning at 11:30 a.m.

It’s a bit of a ways to go, but Blvd 16 in the Hotel Palomar LA-Westwood is giving away free sandwiches (with chips and a beverage) to the first 100 people through the door on Thursday.  Chef Simon Dolinky wants to familiarize folks with his new lunch menu.  On it are not only healthful gourmet sandwiches for $10 each (like the ones he’s giving away), but also upscale salads with either kobe beef or albacore tuna.  Valet parking is complimentary during lunch service.

Free Cupcakes to Little Sports Stars

Monday Night Suppers at Artisan

On Monday nights brothers Chris and Mike Kobayashi serve family-style suppers at their modern American restaurant, Artisan, in Paso Robles.  These meals have three courses and cost only $38 per person.  Each Monday meal showcases a different farmer and each week a vintner or craft brewer will be on hand to pour spirits to anyone wanting to imbibe.  The alcohol is offered at an additional price.

New Dining Options at Hampton’s

Hampton’s in the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village has some new dining options available.  For a real dining deal, there’s the Taste of Hampton’s:  a three-course meal (app, entree, dessert) prepared by the Chef de Cuisine Richard Hoffman (pictured above on the right) for only $45 plus tax and tip.

Spa dishes have been added to Hampton’s menu for those looking to reign in calories and saturated fats.  You’ll also see new spa dishes on the Lobby Lounge and Onyx menus.

Cafe Provencal MT$30 Dinners

Stimulus Plates at Los Olivos Cafe

Monday through Thursday, for lunch and dinner

Los Olivos Cafe owner Sam Marmorstein wants to do his part to help end this recession.  To that end, he’s asked chef Nat Ely to whip up lunch plates for $10 and dinner plates for $12.  The plates might include a main item and a side or they might be a casserole.  The menu changes weekly so call to see what’s cooking.  Some past stimulus plates included meatloaf with whipped potatoes and gravy; eggplant Parmesan; beef Stroganoff over noodles; roasted chicken with crispy potatoes and string beans.

Wine Deals at Saddle Peak Lodge

Throughout the month of October on every night but Saturday, Saddle Peak Lodge will be selling certain bottles of wine for their cost plus $10.  Wine Director Joshua Buckner wants to winnow down the over 400 labels that the restaurant now carries in order to have a more streamlined list.  So about 75 labels are being let go at very reasonable prices.  Get ‘em before they’re gone.

Coast Meal Deals

Coast Restaurant & Bar in the Canary Hotel is offering a bevy of meal deals throughout the week.

On Tuesday  nights, a Farmer’s Market Dinner costs $28.  Chef Brian Parks will create a meal based on what he’s found at the farmers market that morning.

Wednesday night is Beer Tasting night with beer samples and appetizer specials for $12.

Friday night is “Off the Hook”:  a three-course seafood meal for $28.

On Saturday night you can get dinner for two, movie tickets, and candy for $35 per person.

Sunday is a family-style meal that changes weekly for $25 per person ($12.50 for kids).
