C-Street Beer Dinner
Tuesday, June 30th, 6:30 p.m.

Chef Nic Manocchio of C-Street restaurant has created a five-course meal around Sierra Nevada beers in celebration of their new release: Kellerweis Hefeweizen. That new Hefeweizen is paired with an arugula salad with Pixie tangerines, crispy goat cheese, and a citrus vinaigrette. Other courses include a chicken & alligator sausage jambalaya paired with Pale Ale. The final course is a Sierra Nevada Beer Float with creamy stout ice cream and a pretzel biscotti. The price is $49.

Thousand Oaks Farmers’ Market Back in Place
The Thousand Oaks Farmers’ Market officially reopens today back in its original location at the east end of the parking lot of The Oaks Shopping Center. It has been at the Hillcrest Center for the last two years while The Oaks was getting its facelift. You can find it at the corner of Wilbur Road and Thousand Oaks Blvd. It will be here every Thursday from 1:30 - 6:30 p.m.

Moorpark Farmers’ Market Opens
The Ventura County Certified Farmers’ Market Association has launched a Farmers’ Market at Moorpark College today. It’s located in parking lot G1 on Campus Park Drive and will be here every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. About 25 farmers and a few food vendors will be selling fresh produce, honey, eggs, freshly cut flowers, and the like.

Santa Barbara Wine Festival
Saturday, June 27, 2-5 p.m.
The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History has invited a bevy of Central Coast wineries along with bakers, caterers and chefs onto its grounds as a fundraiser for educational programs and exhibits. Abalone Cooking Class at Dolphin Bay Resort
Thursday, June 25th, 5:30 p.m.
Evan Treadwell, Executive Chef of Lido Restaurant at the Dolphin Bay Resort, will teach guests how to cook abalone. Also giving culinary advice on those tricky shellfish: Brad Buckley, general manager of Ocean Rose Abalone Farm. At 7:30 p.m., everyone will sit down to an abalone dinner with wine. The price is $80. Fabio, The Red Cross, and Bravo
Fabio Viviani has teamed up with Bravo TV to raise money for victims of the Italian Earthquake on April 6th. You can watch Fabio cook and make donations to the Red Cross through Bravo TV’s website. Fabio calls this his webathon for earthquake relief. To get involved, visit

Spanish Hills Country Club Wine Dinner
Friday, June 19th, 6 p.m.
In celebration of Ventura County’s Wine Trail last week, the Spanish Hills Country Club is serving up a six-course meal paired with five wines from these Ventura County vintners: Stafford Winery, Old Creek Ranch Winery, Ranch Ventavo Cellars, Herzog Wine Cellars, and Cantara Cellars. Varietals run from Chardonnay to Viognier to Tempranillo and Syrah. Dishes include seared duck breast, chanterelle-crusted pork tenderloin, and a Valrhona chocolate torte. The price is $79.

Fleming’s Father’s Day Menu

Jonathan’s Offers Belly-Dancing Lesson

Lebanese dancer Sana teaches step-by-step belly dancing in the wine room of Jonathan’s at Pierano’s. The Grill in Westlake Village’s Promenade experienced a fire and has closed for repairs. They hope to reopen by the end of June.

Fabio Viviani at CALM fundraiser

Eat at C-Street, Feed the Needy
Starting tonight, for every dinner entree purchased at C-Street restaurant (during the week), a meal will be donated to the Salvation Army to feed a person in need. The program lasts until July 31st. It’s good for dinner entrees purchased Sunday through Thursday nights (5-10 p.m.) Chef Nic Manocchio said this in a recent press release about the program: “Because times are tough, there is even a greater need to give to those less fortunate.”
